Wearing the correct uniform and grooming is considered to be an essential part of the dancer’s training and can only help the dancer to feel correctly prepared for their work.
Ballet Uniform
Early Years and Pre – Primary Grade • Pink 1st Position ‘Millie’ capped sleeve voile skirted dress • Pink ¾ sleeved x-over. • Pink ballet socks or tights • Pink ballet shoes with elastics (canvas, leather or satin)
Primary • Aqua 1st Position ‘Millie’ capped sleeve voile skirted dress • White ¾ sleeved x-over. • Pink ballet tights • Pink ballet shoes with elastics (canvas, leather or satin)
Grades 1 and 2 • Marine tank leotard and separate voile skirt • Black ¾ sleeved x-over. • Pink ballet tights • Pink ballet shoes with elastics (canvas, leather or satin)
Grade 3 • Bluebell ruched front leotard • Black ¾ sleeved x-over. • Pink ballet tights (preferably with seams) • Pink ballet shoes with 3/4 inch ribbons (canvas or leather)
Grades 4 to 6
Black cotton ruched front leotard
Pink ballet tights (preferably with seams)

Modern & Tap Uniform
Grades Primary to Grade 2 Delphinium Catsuit (all in one)
Grades 3 to 6 ANY colour lycra or cotton leotard & black leggings

Boys Dancewear
Ballet: White T shirt and black shorts or leggins
Modern: White T shirt and black shorts or leggins
Tap: White T shirt and black shorts, leggings, joggers.
Please remember! – Girls hair should always be suitably dressed away from the face in a secure bun at the nape of the neck. – BSD T-shirts and hooded tops should be removed for class. – No jewellery or watches to be worn in class.
Where to buy? Leotards, x-overs and tights are available from the school, please ask for an order form. For shoes it is always best to have them fitted – Active Dancewear, Lee Lane, Horwich offer a very good service and you can also get all your other items from here too.
